My child has a wiener

That’s right: Baby Mostek is officially a “him.” I’m fully aware that someday my son might go back and read these posts about his early development and be completely embarassed that his mother actually wrote “wiener.”

Well, I have some comforting news: his daddy wrote it first. This happens to be the finely worded first text sent after we found out that he is, indeed, a “him.”

He’s moving all over the place and was really active for the full ultrasound. We had no problems finding out the gender: apparently he’s quite the exhibitionist (as evidenced in the photos below).

All news about baby was good news, and he’s developing right on schedule. As for me, we found out that currently I have placenta previa. That means the placenta is growing above the cervix. Right now, the doctors don’t seem concerned because there’s enough space and time for the placenta to move. I have another appointment and ultrasound in 6 weeks to monitor whether or not it moves. If it does not, we might be looking at bedrest (double yuck). For now, I’m feeling good and don’t have any causes for concern.

May I present: our son.

  2. YAY!!!! So excited for you guys! (do not call him peyton - that is a girls name) - of course, good luck finding a name at all considering most of the boy names are now girl names (at least we had a hard time finding a good one). Can't wait to meet him next week (at least in his parasitic form) :)

  4. Funny, we actually checked during the ultrasound for the prominent nose. I have one too so it might as well be a done deal. Poor guy. :)

  5. Congrats! I'm glad you're not too worried about the placenta previa. I had the same thing and it moved on its own. It's nice to get to see another ultrasound :)

  6. I had John and the girl guess what it was since I knew and they didn't. John guessed boy because he figured Nick would be luckier than him and not have the "girl curse". ;) Leah thinks maybe we should do a swap, your boy for one of our girls. Ha! John always wanted to name a boy Seven. :)

  7. Leah should be careful what she wishes for. We might just show up one night and snatch her up!
