We have made progress on the nursery, but no colors or specifics have been chosen yet. I have scored a few hand-me-downs for some key items, and I'm finding there's a lot of people wanting to get rid of baby stuff. Let me just say, for the record, I welcome secondhand items of all kinds. I have no style, and my poor child can wear silly mismatched clothes. If you had it, used it, liked it, and are trying to get rid of it: yes, I'm interested.
Last weekend we cleared out the baby's room and adjusted closet space for the big move. We also did a preliminary registry/shopping excursion to familiarize with what baby stuff is out there. After my head exploded, I started to organize which types of things we actually need and which ones were secondary. Wowsers...there is a lot of stuff out there!
We've also started looking at daycare options. It feels crazy early to start looking, but I definitely don't want that to be a stress later. We have a couple places we like so far, so I'm hopeful our options will be great and we can choose a place sometime soon.
I'm feeling him move more and more each day, though Nick still hasn't been able to feel it yet. It's pretty special to feel him flip while I'm sitting in a meeting at work or working at my computer. Supposedly he's able to taste the food I'm eating now, and so far I think he approves.
We're headed home in a couple weeks and I can't wait. It'll be a jam-packed trip, but we get to catch up with a lot of family and a lot of friends. And meet my nephew! Side bonus: ISU football game. On that note, courtesy of Grampa and Gramma Lamos, "Go Cyclones!"
(Thanks, Mom & Dad!)
The Byersdorfer clan is looking to offload some baby boy clothes! You think Baby Mostek is interested...added bonus we are in Ames :) Let me know if you are interested! You look great btw!
ReplyDeleteWe are so excited for the visit--yay! :) Maybe you can collect things here and we can send a box off later so you don't have to travel with extra goodies. I'm sure we can hook you up with some pink onesies or sleepers. Real men wear pink, right? ;) Having had to come up with boy name options three times with someone who is related to Nick, our options were not always serious either. During the Masters the year Anna was born, John said if Charl Schwartzel won that is what we were naming the baby. Thankfully we didn't follow through and your niece is named Anna instead.
