Giving it a go

So I've decided to start a blog. I blame my good friends Kristen and Jes, who have both been recently pregnant and kept families updated by blogs. That's right; my friends jumped off the bridge so I'm going to do it too. I'm not entirely sure I'll be very diligent on keeping it updated, but we're going to give it a go.

Right now the blog design is just one of the templates Blogger creates to get you started. Since I'm a designer, my instincts tell me I really need to customize and make it "cooler." But since I'm pregnant, my motivation for outside projects is humming around the zero mark. Which will win? Stay tuned. This is riveting stuff.

Pregnancy quick update:

• I am now 16+ weeks, due December 30th.

• Feeling much better in my second trimester, but was definitely pukey for the first trimester.

• Will definitely find out the gender and pass on the info. Ultrasound is August 8.

• Have not yet chosen a name, made a list of names, and probably won't share that info until baby Mostek arrives.

• Haven't even started collecting stuff or thinking about the nursery. We know which room is the baby's room, so I'm marking that as progress.

• We have had 2 ultrasounds so far, and all seems to be well.

• Belly pics have been taken, and yes I'm definitely showing. I started showing at about 8 weeks. How is that possible? I have no idea.

• No weird cravings, just aversions. Even though I'm feeling better, I still can't commit to eating chicken yet. Nick is really anxious for me to start craving anything, really. Apparently when my diet starts to include a burrito run four times a week, so will his.

• Have not yet purchased any maternity clothes, but can't fit into most of my current wardrobe. Next step: yoga pants.

I think that covers most of the highlights. I'll try to post a few pics within the next couple days. Stay tuned!

  1. With the first two I was off chicken, too. ;) I would make us supper and then be like, "Um yeah, can't do that right now". We will be waiting for the gender news next week! Leah says it is a boy. "I hope it will be a boy so Nick won't be like Daddy" which I take to mean totally outnumbered by girls.
